Neem Products for Dogs Includes
There are several different products for dogs that contain Neem. The following are just a few of those products.
The Neem soap and the Neem shampoo are designed to use when you give your dog a bath. You can leave them with shiny healthy coats and all the while you will be killing the fleas that have gotten on your pet, and the ticks that have gotten on them. There are other parasites that feed off of the skin of a dog and the Neem shampoos and soaps will help to stop those parasites as well.
The shampoos and the soaps that contain the Neem oils will usually be gentle enough that they can be used on a regular basis with no ill effects to your pet. You want to check with your veterinarian if you should see the animal having any signs of adverse reactions, or if your animal has an over abundance of fleas and ticks.
You can use raw Neem oil to help kill the fleas on your animal, and you can even mix this in a spray and spray their bedding, and the area of the yard where the animal is most often seen to be lying down. You really should check with your vet to determine the exact amount of Neem oil that can be safely used on an animal that is the size and weight of your dog.
You have to keep the ears of a dog clean, and occasionally you will have to treat the animal for ear mites. These painful little mites get inside the ears of your dog and they cause the dog to scratch at their ears and to make sores where they scratch. They can also cause ear infections in the animal if they are not treated for these. To stop mites from establishing a home in the ears of your pet you will need to clean the animal’s ears using cotton swabs and a damp cloth. Be gentle and do not allow the cotton swab to go too far down into the animal’s ear because this is painful for them. After you have the ears cleaned and prepared you apply the diluted Neem oil to the outer edges of the ear. Do not pour this oil into the inner ear of the dog as this will be painful for the animal.
When you make a mixture of Neem oil to spray on your dog and their bedding it is generally done by using one gallon of heated water to one tablespoon of Neem oil. Some people also like to add a tablespoon of another essential oil to diffuse the strong aroma of the Neem oil.
